Why the differences between a Kirby G3 in a Kirby G10 or quite minor. It's the details that sometimes makes sense and sometimes don't. Particularly why a Kirby Drive bracket cam lever #557689 on a G3 never wears out but after the G5 version it does even though the parts seem to be identical. Also what was up with the half cooling vent?
Kirby and there changes and why they were made over the years?

Never noticed.

One thing i have noticed and i'm quite bothered by. When i replaced an axle it came with plastic bushings instead of the metal ones that were in the machine.

Either of both of these parts going bad will make the drive click when you push the machine in neural while off. The cam lever gets replaced on most Kirbys these days, as most show a ton of wear, and the cam/pedals, the cam can wonder down the shaft and eventually fall off, letting the pedals fall out the back!

Pretty sure the partial delete on the motor exhaust is to stop it from leafblowing dust off your floor. That was the intent anyway, it doesn't really do much.
