It IS a Electronic

But I cant swear I have the proper PN for it, I DO know I have 2 sets of wands and 2 hoses, one of which is about like new, I DEFINATELY have the PN for the green model, These MIGHT be up for trade for the appropriate oddball Westinghouse I hope to thin out the uprights and Power Nozzle canisters....All but Electroluxes of course, they are staying, im not into PNs OR uprights...You can have only so many Convertibles...LOL I WILL be keeping my 29, 634, 65,63,62.61 and 60 and my 150 that was Terry Lattzes, a 260 Eureka, a G and a M Eureka along with a few straight suction Eurekas, and a couple of GEs, other than these most of the rest of the uprights will go....I havent counted but its over 150 of them, more like 200.One coffee can is promised but there are several, many with attachments in boxes, a 25,26,27 and 28 Hoover,etc...

That Lewyt is at $300 already?! Darn! If only I had some spare cash right now, that's one of my dream machines :(

Then again, I did find one EXTREMELY RARE vacuum here in Ontario, as scarce as Hen's Teeth, that I will be posting about soon :-)

Hans,
If you run across any extra Electronic hose you would be willing to sell (preferably green) please let me know.

"have a chrome power nozzle?"

The only paper I have seen on this is a 2 page article in a 'Living for Young Homemakers' magazine of about 1960 showing various new household products. It was called the Silver Comet and other than the chrome vac seemed to be same as other Electronics. It is 'in a box somewhere' but I now have 4 larger shelf units and am sorting magazines including HUGE quantities of Life,McCalls,Ladies Home Journal,House & Garden,House Beautiful & MORE.
The EBay Electronic(not mine & I have never found the green)seems to be in amazing low mileage condition.Just think how hard it is to find an original hose for a 50s canister vac such as a GE or Hoover and we can see why this complete rarest of the rare Leywt deserves a high bid.

What year did Lewyt change the bag chamber design on the Big Wheel models?
I’ve never seen one with the wire mesh over the motor intake, like this one.

And this LEWYT ELECTRONIC 111's prize package is worth??

$640.00.. Wow. Truthfully, knowing how nutty one can become with ones pocketbook, for a rare piece of tenderloin like this; one is shocked it stopped there honestly.

That said..

This is IMHO a wonderful (working) machine for whomever was the final bidder. From the looks of what eBay DOES let you in on, the new owners is one who has bought/purchased many vintage vacuums prior. Hopefully one is a individual who will share this find with all... Hopefully. Possibly in a video, or pictures.

I've added a few pictures of the machine in the sale for posterity... Or as long as the algorithm keeps things in play.

Chad

I have always wanted a Lewyt cleaner-esp the Big Wheel-but NOT at that price!!!Think this design should be reintroduced-would make a good DTD brand! But of course use the modern powernozzle designs. And think of how much dirt this would hold if you could use a Filtrete type bag in it!This could also be a good for a vac shop,as well.

I am surprised it ended this early as complete as it is. I believe the reason is because it was listed at the wrong time of year. Right before the holidays is the worst time to sell. If this had been in the early Spring time I bet it would have reached $800 Congratz to the winner, that's awesome and I too hope they share more pics of this very special and rare 1958 beauty. ps. To who won, the wands are dated so you can know for sure if it's a 58 or a 59 model.

The winning bidder isn't unknown to some of us from the old VCCC. Unfortunately, I believe this (like almost all her other 'wins') will end up in a silo and never see the light of day again.

electronic and big wheel

Just saw this thread, I hope whoever bought that uses rubber gloves when they use it, or they may become a victim of the zapper which is what I call them since they shock you when you use them. Was the big wheel also a zapper or was that a different model? I'm wondering if anyone who has one has ever actually gotten zapped? Think if I ever got one of these, I would wear rubber gloves while using it.
Mike
