Dear Friends,
Funeral services for Glenn Dienst have been set for this Saturday, October 21st at Sunset Memorial Park in Albuquerque. The address is 924 Menaul Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM, 87107. Their phone number is 505-345-3536.

Though I will be attending the services, I don't claim to have been a close or intimate friend of Glenn's. I first met Glenn at the Austin VCCC Convention in 2010 and found him to be kind, gracious, and eager to share his love of vacuums with me. He was much more than that...as a native New Mexican he was full of local and state history, loved classic cars, and was well versed in movie trivia. While Glenn was a very private man, he came out in the 70's in New Mexico when I understand it wasn't very easy to do so. When I moved to New Mexico last April, I invited him to my new home and looked forward to deepening our friendship over time, but his cancer had other plans. Even towards the end he handled himself with class and dignity, never making excuses nor looking for pity. I'll treasure the times I got to spend with him over this past summer, and the stories he shared with me. I'm glad he left us while he was at his own home, surrounded by his dogs, his great collections, and in the company of a loving friend. I hope my life ends with such peace and warmth.

If anyone would like to attend the service, or needs additional information contact me at txsjc1@aol.com.
Best wishes to Glenn at the end of his journey on earth,
Sean Curry

I'll be thinking of Glenn Saturday, and probably many more days from now on. He really was such a great guy! Thanks for the information.

Glenn's Journey

Glenn, Not a day goes by.....

I'm already missing our conversations and your humor and generous insight.

So many of us will be there Saturday, in remembrance and in spirit, if not on site.  Your were and continue to be a joy and an inspiration with class to those of us who were really lucky to really know you.  You will be missed, but not forgotten, dear friend.

Lovingly,

Rick

We were fortunate to have known him.

He will be missed by many.
How fortunate he was to have his various hobbies AND find his various tribes with which he could share the things he loved AND have a few laughs along the way.
In our great "train ride" through life it is not the final station that matters so much but how we enjoy the journey. We were blessed to have him along.
