Hi all Trish and I are only selling out vacuum parts on Facebook. We feel ebay has become to restrictive on there rules for us to serve our customers. We are building our store's inventory. We have a garage full of machines and parts to get listed so if you are looking for something go to Facebook and search for new2youvacuums and my site will direct you to our new store.

Thank you for your support over the years.

Richard and Trish Groski

EBay's rules? What do you mean? What have they done now?
I completely lost interest in selling this year. I will try it again this January and see if I can have a good profit year like I used to but I'm not looking forward to the hassles and fees not to mention the outrageous shipping costs.

I think.....

folks are sick of paying for eBay fees to sell and for the use of PayPal as well. And there are a fair amount of kook buyers out there giving sellers fits by undeserved, bad feedback. Although I will admit there are still a fair amount of shyster sellers out there. I don't know if there could ever be a perfect online auction site, given human nature. There are some alternatives now, but no one has the selection of eBay.

The high shipping costs are not a function of eBay but the piracy and gross inefficiency of the carriers. If you're a company that ships often, you can get reasonable rates, if you're an individual, you get screwed on heavy, bulky stuff.  I sent my son a 1205 back to NYC and that cost with the wands and attachments $80. He moved back to Nashville with his GF and wants to send them back to me (GF bought a plastic fantastic something or other). Of course dad's gonna pay to have my own vac sent back.  At the end of the day, I'll wind up spending more on that 'mobile' 1205 than it's worth!

Ebay problems

We found it was impossible to provide good customer service, the fees were way to high and we could not let our customers pay by anything but paypal. We also could not say we would let our customers pay by check or money order. We were not allowed to put any text in our pictures. And finally we were not allowed to mention our facebook site.

The last thing I sold on eBay was this past May, a musical instrument. The "Buy It Now" was $3000.00. eBay's and PayPal's combined fees were $487.80. See screen shots below.

That did it for me. Their fees are absolutely ridiculous now, and impossible to calculate beforehand because of the different ways they charge their fees with the "final value" fees etc. etc. etc.

It really stinks.
