Well, lately I have slowed down dramatically on the number of vacuum cleaners I am purchasing. For one thing, eBay and the like have driven the prices of these older cleaners through the roof, but also because I would like to focus more on models I don't already own......this however was an exception....I ran across this vacuum on an online estate sale auction website and the bidding was quite low, so I decided to place a bid. Quite frankly, I totally forgot about even placing a bid on the machine, so imagine my surprise when I opened up my email and there's one from the auction company saying "Congratulations, you've won!" So, while I needed another Electrolux Model XXX like I need a hole in the head, I wound up with a decent example of a post-war machine in a cool faux leather case, all for the whopping sum of $2.00! Oh well, can't argue with that I suppose!

The CASE. That was used by Electrolux salesmen DURING the war (WWII) to carry their sample, as there were no new Electrolux cleaners that could actually be sold. That's a very rare case, it's worth tons more than the machine. Congrats.

For $2, that might well qualify as a deal of the century.
