Yesterday I got the vacuum with a bad motor. Was a trade in as they told the customer you can't get the motor any more.

I got home and plugged it in to hear a horrible sound. I began to dismantle it.

The motor must have been GLUED in, I found the 3 screws that held the motor bracket, but the whole thing would not move...drastic measures caused me to beat the heck out of the motor cover smashing one of the two stage fans.

The vacuum is complete, so now I am looking around in my stuff to determine if I have a 2 stage Ametek motor that will fit.

Can anyone tell me off hand what other vacuums use this motor?

I got what I thought wsa a matching motor, but failed to notice it is a 3 wire instead of a 2 wire.

What do I do next?

Well...

I used to have a Maroon one...can't recall the exact model but it had the speed control slider on the body. I replaced it's motor with some FQ motor on the shelf at the shop. So there is yet hope!

Thanks Devin...

what I was trying to determine was am I supposed to cap off one of the wires and use the other two.

I since found out one may for for high and another low HOT. I will have to rig something to figure out which is which before installing it.

My vacuum has the same sliding switch controlled by a PCB. I may decide to make this a simple on off and bypass the PCB since all I hear are bad things about the board.

Any insight is appreciated.
