Hey EVM

I emailed partswarehouse.com and they sent back
a request for the following data:

Part #, or a description of the part
Manufacturers Name
Model #

Send this to: info@partswarehouse.com

I'm sure they'll have what you need. Frank

Hi there

Just curious...what is wrong with the part you have pictured that warrants its replacement? Could the part be repaired in some way?

Unless you find a donor machine or a used motor, I am highly doubtful you will be able to get your hands on that part. Hate to be a disappointment, but my experience with has been that Sanitaire motor parts are not sold separately...the only viable option I found for "repairing" my S661's motor was simply replacing it.

If you are patient, you could probably find a cheap, used Sanitaire which would have the same part at either a thrift shop or a "junk vacuums" pile at a vac shop.

But when a brand new, genuine 7 amp (840 watt) drop-in replacement is available for $42, why not? That's what I did; I simply repowered my S661 with a brand new motor. Haven't looked back since :)

I was actually able to get on from my local vacuum shop. They sell them new for $20 or used for $10. I bought a use one. Why I needed a new one was because the brush holder were lose.

Excellent news! Sounds like you managed to save yourself a good chunk of change going that route. I'm glad you had success finding individual motor parts, something I never found a good source for.

Was the commutator damaged at all when the loose brush holder presumably rubbed against it. How does the Sanitaire run now?
