Hello all,

Earlier this month I bough myself this top of the line Miele Cylinder as an early Birthday present to myself.

I absolutely adore it, I got it direct from Miele for £450! It wasn't the most affordable but it certainly is worth it, to me at least, I love it!

Due to the new EU regulations that have come into place at the start of this month (September 2017) this model has been discontinued as it doesn't quite comply! Infact, it disappeared from Miele's website within a week of me ordering it! This model is still available if you look online, however, once stocks have depleted, I am guessing that is it for this model, sadly, so if you are in the UK and you want this model, you need to be buying it now, haha.

Cylinders with power heads in the UK are pretty few and far between and it is a real shame!

Here are the photos anyway, isn't she beautiful!

Wow! Love my suction only Miele C3! Is that a new-fangled bare floor tool? I see no bristles. Does it have rubber wiper blades? Does it work well?

Absolutely love the colour of this Miele...Royal Blue, I guess. No?

I just watched your YouTube video of this machine. You are right that is a very nice blue color.

In my opinion, Miele really does make the nicest looking cylinder vac. I'd call it the Apple or Bose of Vacuums - and that's a compliment!

Eurekaprince - Yeh, it is a new hard floor tool called the "SRD" it has rubber wheels and rubber blades (only) so it glides smoothly over hard floors, I would of liked to of seen this model come with the Parquet Twister floor tool...Not tested the SRD yet but I do plan on doing a demo video at some point soon. The machine gets an A rating for hard floors so it must perform pretty well.

The colour is "Marine Blue" hehe, I suppose Royal Blue would of seemed more patriotic for the UK! lol.

Ryan - Thanks for watching, hope you enjoyed...I really am in love with the colour, I had to cut that clip shortly after unwrapping it as I was getting a bit too giddy for a 22 year old drooling over a vacuum! LOL.

Rvarley - I know what you mean, Miele make very smart machines and are very well finished, with innovative features, which is similar to Apple.

Here's my C3 Marin in Marine Blue. I miss the metallic paint finish of the first generation S8 series but we can't have everything!

Very nice, looks like the US and UK model are pretty much the same aside from some minor spec differences and different tools.

Excellent video!

Regarding the issue of snowplowing on bare floors: if vac-makers would reposition the placement of the brush-strips on “rocker-switch” wheeled carpet-floor tools, the problem would be solved. As Panasonic, Kenmore and Hoover once did, a single row of retractable bristles along the centre of the nozzle (with a break in the centre for the suction channel) would keep the tool at just the right height above the bare floor and allow dirt to be sucked in from the front and rear on both the foreward stroke and the back-stroke. Retractable brushes set around the perimeter of the tool are rather useless in my opinion.

Though the Hoover and Kenmore bare floor brushes were not wheeled, the concept could easily be applied to the standard wheeled convertible carpet/floor tools. Instead of perimeter bristles, install a single thick row of retractable soft bristles on either side of the suction port-hole - perhaps with a small set of edge sweeping “whiskers” on each end. This way dirt can be easily sucked off the floor from both the front and rear of the metal sole plate.

Impressive how the Miele composite PN without beater bars creates so much adgitation.

Hard floor snowplow problem---Push DOWN slightly on the wand handle as you go forward-the pull UP on the handle as you go back-this should lift the front and back of the floor tool so the suction can gulp in the debris as in this case.-Lots of debris to pick up.

Alex,
very nice machine there. They make a great cleaner.

Totally off subject but in the first pic is a small upright photo bombing. Is that similar to the Regina upright?

Thanks guys.

The upright in the first photo is an Electrolux TwinTurbo Electronic Deluxe Mod Z561

I did a video on that too if you are interested.

hard floor nozzles

I'm actually not a fan of the nozzles that switch from floors to rugs, best tool to use for hard floors is a dedicated hard floor brush. The Centec CT10 is a great power nozzle for hard floors as well. Regarding Miele vacuums, I have the Miele C1 Olympus which is no longer made. It's a great straight suction machine, also takes the larger GN bags. Miele has discontinued many of their previous models in the United States, I think the lower end models are all made in China now.
