this Heritage 2 recently for $10 at a goodwill outlet. I'm really amazed at its condition considering where it came from. It does need a brushroll, but aside from that it's in pretty great shape. Even the lettering and colors on the height adjuster are quite great shape.

Kirby peeps, which look do you prefer more, Heritage 2 or Legend 2? I know they are basically the same sweeper, but what do you think about their looks?

Great looking Heritage II Legend you found and a good deal too! I wish I could come across another for that cheap...

I have one standard Heritage II and have had another which someone dressed to look like a Legend II, but was actually just a Heritage II in Legend II livery according to the bottom label. Sneaky people...lol. That one wasn't around for long--I bought that five-dollar-find (also at a Goodwill outlet, coincidentally) to part out for my original Heritage II since it had shiny aluminum.

To answer your question: Definitely, I prefer the look of the Heritage II. The black/grey combo just works a lot better for me than does the maroon, but I can easily see how others would prefer to see a bit more color.

When you get a brush roll for yours, I would recommend the ball bearing supported genuine replacement (looks like plain wood) instead of a used original with the bushing supports (silver painted wood). Either would work fine, so don't spend too much for the ball bearing one if you can come across a cheaper original, but the ball bearing version has less drag.

Great find and thanks for sharing!

P.S. You might want to lock your Heritage II's mini-emptor on all the way. It looks like it still needs one final twist to be secure. It may be a bit stiff, but the flat bottom of the emptor should be just about parallel with the ground. It might go on easier if you took it off completely to make sure the three tracks the lugs ride in on the emptor are clean and free of dirt/grit.

Zach,

Here's MY 1987 Heritage II! It does have the shake-out bag like I wanted, but it still does not look the way I want it to...

I have two of the Legend II's. Kirby used the same Id tags on those machines as they were using on the black Heritage II machines. I like the Maroon color scheme better myself.
