I can't remember why Hoover had to change the convertible rug setting name indooroutdoor to low
Thanks for clearing that up.

It was because people saw

"indoor/outdoor" and used their cleaner 'outdoors'....on damp carpeting...... caused problems, including electrical ones.
Who thought one would have to told that????? If you buy a machine, an electrical machine, wouldn't you think that using it outside, on
wet surfaces, would cause a problem?

Thanks again for cleaning that up as I don't tolerate my inventions being any dangerous like that.

there were no deaths. If there were, I think there would have been a very loud story about a MAJOR lawsuit for HOOVER. I'll check.

Years ago before UL listings and electrical appliances were insulated. Kirby could sell a new vacuum to some one that recently purchased a new machine.

All the salesman needed to do was run the owners machine past a metal floor heating grate and show them the electrical discharge between the machine and the grate. Then do the same thing with the new insulated machine. As there was no obvious electrical discharge between the new Kirby and the grate a new Kirby was almost certain to be sold on the spot.
