Hello everyone.

I have just started collecting Kirby vacuums. I have Kirby 562 model, vii sanitronic, 72 classic omegA, traditional series 1 , legend series 2.
The only bag not original is omegA it has a sanitronic bag. I know replacement is black but not original. I'm going to get all shined up nice want maximum return. Will the bagsmake much of a difference. Thanks for your time.

Les,

The Classic Omega 1CB didn't come out until the summer of 1973... are you sure your '72 Kirby isn't the Classic 1CR that was sold just before the Omega? I ask because when rebuilt, the Classic 1CRs come back with Classic Omega 1CB decals for the nozzle and the handle fork.

And does your Tradition have the 10-blade metal fan and/or the headlight cap with the speed switch mounted inside of it? If so, you have one of the very first examples (serial no. F499999 and back).

I know tradition doesn't have metal fan now. I took pictures of light cap numbers etc.
I took pictures of omega I noticed stamp in 1996 was rebuilt by kirby explain bag. I took pics.
I will say you guys know a lot about Kirby's. I do appreciate the info and help.
Another question I posted link to 1969 dual sanitronic 80 box attachments sales slip. He is asking $99 I might talk him down to 60-75. I know it's somewhat rate but is it worth it.
Thanks again you guys are awesome.

Les,

Your Omega is a summer 1973 model going by the serial number on the nameplate (M185730), so yours is one of the earliest! However, the cloth bag presently on it is incorrect... it would originally have come with the same golden-yellow KGF-40 cloth bag used on the prior Classic 1CR, but with the Classic Omega 1CB patch on the front... that would change to the pinstriped cloth bag, which was the factory cloth bag on my 1974 Omega (serial no. N125785).

And your Tradition's serial number is G808078, which puts it at late 1980/early 1981... so the gray Lexan fan would be the original one from the factory.
