My friend had a purple Kenmore Progressive bagless upright with Direct Drive and Intelliclean. I used it once when I was cleaning her windows to dust the screens. I liked how the hose had a clip at the bottom so it didn't tip over. And the Gentlesweep and three suction levels was fun. I don't remember much about the Intelliclean other than the dirt sensor lights.

However it had the filter system with the pleated filter that I found had to be cleaned all the time on my mom's white Quickclean model.

Anyway, I think my friend may have gotten rid of that Kenmore as last I was at their house she had a Shark Rotator. She used to have all Kenmore appliances but after the issue with her Oasis washer and dryer she seems to buy other brands.

I do wonder if they had a canister before that Progressive upright though because in their office I once saw a yellow Kenmore Progressive canister, with the LED light on the wand and dirt sensor on Powermate. But it would seem those were made right around the same time? 2005-06 or so I figured.

I had that same machine from 2009-2011. Filtration was horrible.

Did yours have a floor brush, my friend said hers did, but I didn't use it.

I never emptied her vacuum, but my mom's was a pain. The bin unlatched then twisted to remove the cover. The filter was behind a ring with holes that were meant to catch the dust, but most got in the filter pleats, so we had to vacuum it out. My mom's had just a small foam block filter on the front cover below the bin. My friend's had a HEPA filter on the side of the machine.

I wouldn't mind having the blue bagged version of the Progressive Direct Drive with Intelliclean.

I had the bagged version-went through two of those damn things. Guess it was my disability and my immaturity at 12 years old not caring for it correctly. I will never own another Kenmore machine for as long as I live, but I respect others who like them. Sears is dying, so that explains the reason.
