My mom wanted a bagless upright to replace the Kenmore Quickclean she had that started cracking. She was using her canister in the mean time, but wanted another upright that was bagless.
She initially bought a Bissell Powerforce Compact from Walmart, but when she opened it she decided it was way too small. That reminded me of the time when she bought the Kenmore Quickclean, she was going to get a Eureka Boss Lite but then realized it was way too small to clean a whole house. Anyhow, she took the Bissell back and ended up getting a Hoover Windtunnel 2 Rewind at Sears. I was hoping she would get one of the Kenmore CrossOver models because they seem really neat with the two motor design. But one of her neighbors said they have a Windtunnel and liked it, so she decided to get it. I tried it out and I don't think it's a bad machine really. This was my first experience with a Hoover from within the last decade really, and I was impressed. It does have washable filters and the bagless design looks better than most of the ones as it doesn't seem to have the filter inside the container. It also has an indicator that shows when it needs to be cleaned. And the brushroll has a shutoff pedal for cleaning hardfloors and it also shuts off when you put the handle up. I didn't mess with the attachments, so can't say for that. But overall it seemed to do a good job, not too heavy and fairly quiet. It's a little louder than her canister but about the same as the Kenmore upright she had. |
