Was thinking about getting one of these patriot vacuums, they sound awesome, there is quite a price difference though and I was wondering if anyone knew the difference between them and if the higher price is worth it. First there is the patriot hybrid.

And then there is the patriot air storm.

Apparently they use the same motor, and based on the descriptions they sound the same.

I used to have a Patriot the model, it was a white and red model similar to the 2nd link. To my knowledge it had the old dual stage motor the new ones to my understanding use a single stage they refer to as the "arc" motor.

I ended up parting with it because i just preferred my old Tristar it just looks nicer to me. Power wise they were pretty similar though.

Are they good vacuums? Very much so, the only thing i majorly disliked about it was the Sebo ET-C powerhead that it came with.

Mike!

I recently got one of these machines from another collector, and honestly, I cannot say enough good things about it. It combines a lot of things in a vacuum I really like. I have always been a fan of my Miele vacuums and their Wessel Werk power nozzle. This machine has that, as well as amazing suction and airflow! I have been nothing but please with the vacuum. The hose length is perfect. The canister is extremely maneuverable. The unit is not too loud (though a LOT of air noise, not motor noise). I also like the tools being right on the wand, and the handle coming off very easily to use them. I took this machine in on a trade, instead of purchasing it. With that being said, I would not hesitate to buy with vacuum. I would say get the one with a Wessel Werk, NOT the Sebo head. I am in no way a fan of those Sebo power nozzles whatsoever.

I am housesitting for friends of mine, and I decided to see what the results would be if I put a brand new bag in this machine. They have been using a poorly maintained Shark for about 4-5 years. I am thoroughly impressed with this vacuum, needless to say. Disgusting pictures speak for themselves! Warning!!

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Yes,have a Patriot I bought several years ago new from a dealer in Raleigh.Great machines-will drag mine out again! They make me think of a Compact-TriStar on steroids!VERY powerful vacuums.I would relegate that Shark to the curb in comparison to the Patriot-your bag shots show what the Shark missed!!!!

got something similar

I actually have a miracle mate coming, apparently these are as good as the patriot and tristar machines, Tom helped me find a good one on ebay from great vacs, I've bought from them before and they are a good company, can't wait to get it. The advantage that this vacuum has is that it has a cord winder, apparently they are quite heavy but they are made very well.

Miracle mate. I've had one of those as well. It was indeed a well built machine but it's weight was it's major downfall.

Hey N0oxy,
don't forget Vortech Force!!
One must have the complete line of Tristar knock offs. Patirot/Airstorm, Miracle Mate, and Vortech Force.
The Miracle Mate is the only one I don't have yet.

tristar clones

I think most of these all use the same motor though so to have them all if the performance was the same would be redundant. Definitely looking forward to getting my miracle mate.

Mike, here is a Vortech Force. It's not the most currant but is the most common. I got one and loved it. My Mom soon after got one and I have one customer here that fell in love with mine and will have nothing else. They are not common in the Midwest much like miracle mate. It has a cord winder and is similar to the miracle mate.

got my miracle mate

A very nice machine, but I would say they are not worth $2000 new, still, very powerful and well made, it came with some tristar bags.

I tried to download an owners manual for the Patriot and my anti-cootie softwear went nuts. Did I do something wrong?

Vortech Force/Airstorm/Tristar/Compact

Hi! I have all the above mentioned vacs with the exception of the Patriot. Visually, I LOVE my PINK Air Storm!. the Vortech Force is a maniac of a cleaner that i bought for 10$ on Ebay. I have assembled most of the parts to have a complete machine now. However, just using the floor tool is as powerful as most of my power driven ones! Great for my clean up business. All my customers have switched over to Tristars now after testing them in their homes as I cleaned. When they saw what it picked up, and what their vacs left behind, they begged for them! I have not been able to locate the "stormy" bag, but seem to remember reading on a thread on VL that you could use the Tristar bag and just cut a pasteboard top to emulate the Stormy bag top? Can anyone confirm that?
We are even gifting a cool couple to be married in October with a beautiful Turquoise Compact system that was refurbished and ready for a new lifetime of use. They have three dogs in the house and were amazed, as the others were, with the power and amount of debris and dirt mine picked up. Plus there is the Turquoise "cool' factor as they put it!!! Enjoy your new vac!!
