Wondering if anyone has seen or tried these. Since I'm a canister lover, I couldn't help but be interested. It's called the Prolux Stealth, and apparently it's a new model. Doesn't TTI make all of the Prolux vacuums? It sounds good for the price, but I wonder how good it really is. I do have the Prolux power nozzle and it is very good, and Panasonic had very good vacuums for the price, so maybe this is a good machine, I'm pondering getting one for my collection, but wanted to see if anyone has tried them first.

Price seems fair by today's standards and the few reviews seem positive. I think many of us don't like plastic vacuums but it looks solid enough and if you have the money to take a chance on a possibly good vac go for it.

Look similar? It's not a new design.

It reminds me of the Hoover Windtunnel Anniversary canister, especially the small attachments and hose.

rebranded royal or hoover

I wonder if it is a rebranded Royal or Hoover machine. I've heard the royal 30020 and it is a fairly quiet machine. Definitely a fast spinning one stage motor.

Mike, I would strongly suggest not buying that canister. As stated above, that canister has been rebranded as this Prolux, Hoover Windtunnel Anniversary, Royal Lexon, Wertheim, & Vax Maxima in straight suction form. And with slight styling changes, Oreck Quest Pro & Airway Altera. Also, closely related & made by the same manufacturer, KingClean, sharing the same hose, & wand, JohnnyVac Xclusiv, Cirrus & Vapamore Vento.

The main problem this exact version with this styling had was the circuit board inside the canister. Especially the Hoover Windtunnel Anniversary version. The plug on the circuit board would stop supplying power to the receptacle on the wiring harness which supplies power to the powerhead receptacle to power the hose, wand & powerhead. A fuse would fail & render the plug on the circuit board dead, requiring complete replacement of the circuit board. Our local shop got at least 10 of these canisters in with the same issue in a 6 month time period, in all cases Hoover just sent out replacement vacuums. I found one with the issue & fixed it by taking power off the switch & cordreel to power the wiring harness, but for a vacuum to have a issue like that at around 2 years old is unacceptable.

Also, the powerhead that Prolux uses is a cheap Chinese imitation of the Eureka Express/Sweep & Groom called the PB11. There were 2 versions of it, the hood styling & flat belt or cog belt being the main differences. The plastic housing on these powerheads is VERY poor quality, all too easy to wear out screw posts, & also having to align things just right & being frustrating when re-assembling after a belt change. The brushes are also poor quality, very wimpy, not much brushing action compared to the Eureka, & they wear out easily. The Eureka brushes can be substituted easily though when it is time for replacement. The reason they came out with the cog belt version is to avoid having to open it up to replace belts & damage the housing.

If you want a 2 year disposable vacuum, this would be it. There are better choices out there.

prolux power nozzle

Thanks Rob, think I will skip it. Actually, I have what I think is the Dustcare PB11 which is what is included with the Metropolitan canister, haven't used it much. Another power nozzle that I think is also branded as a Prolux has 6 height adjustments, LED headlight and seems to be made really well, this one came with the kit I purchased to allow backpack vacuums to use a power nozzle. Appreciate everyone's help with this, like I said, think I will skip it.

Here is the other power nozzle that I was thinking of, for the price, it's very good.

I believe Prolux is also just a brand that GreatVacs "created," since they aren't really sold by anyone except for them. They have them for sale on Amazon and Ebay as well but they're all sold by GreatVacs. Their machines are all just rebadged versions of anther company's cleaners.
