I'm restoring a bellows vacuum, and the bag that came with it has a few holes.

I first thought of having the holes darned, that would be a period specific fix, but making a new bag might be easier. However, it might also be fixed with patches.

Does anyone know what type of fabric/weave is used in 1890-1910 bellows vacuums?

Flax or cotton? Something exotic?
I know nothing of notions...

Thank you,
Warren
