This caught my eye on eBay tonight. I always enjoy learning about Hoover history, but I've never heard of a Hoover dehumidifier. Does anyone know the story behind this?

I didn't know Hoover made dehumidifiers. I've got a Kenmore similar to it but a little newer, made in the '80s, I think. I paid $15 for it at a thrift shop and use in the storage building behind my house. It does a pretty good job, pulling close to a gallon of water out of the air every three to four days in the summertime and the same amount every seven to ten days in the winter.
I see dehumidifiers frequently at thrift shops but they're almost always missing their water collection bins, which makes them pretty much useless, especially considering that a new replacement bin, if you can even find one, will run you $50 or $60--for a square plastic tub!!! |

John Long or Tom Anderson may know who made it for Hoover. Hoover had their name on lots of appliances, but only made a couple I think if I remember correctly. |
