I live in the United Kingdom & need to rewire the main flex on my parents old Hoover Junior model 119 serial number K137380 the nameplate on base says AC or DC motor 225 watts 225-250 volts Rating 9, made by HOOVER IN GREAT BRITAIN. The main flex which was rewired many years ago by my father was damaged by the brush roller, some years after he did it, I now want to replace this damaged flex but do not know what size Hoover used originally, or what the equivalent is today? I think it might be 1mm squared? but I am not sure, can anyone confirm this. The outer flex dia. cannot be more than 7/8mm dia. as 8mm is the hole dia the wire has to go through on the handle top fixing. Please see photo's sent showing base plate, 2 wire supports (top & base of handle) & damaged wire. (4)
