My Princess I has the old cotton batting filter. How often should you change the filter and while I know the new foam one makes the machine a bit louder, will it also improve the suction? Greg

The new foam filter will make the machine run cooler on top of the dome, and it will allow more air to flow easier on its way out. The suction is already awesome (100 inches of lift), so the suction probably won't change perceptibly. I sold hundreds of Princess II and III models in old vac shop. Customers loved them.

BUT

The foam filter will make it somewhat noisier, I wish the cotton batting filters were still available.Tom is right, it already will suck the paint off of the wall!!LOL
