This is my Hoover Celebrity QS that I purchased from a good friend of mine over three years ago. It's a great machine and I really like the way that the power nozzle gently flows across the carpet. Once I started vacuuming with it, I did not want to stop!

I have that same model

that a friend sent to me. It is in excellent shape except the power nozzle didn't work and you couldn't get the circuit board for the power nozzle. So he threw the nozzle away so now I have a very nice machine I can't use until I find a power nozzle for it. It even came with a whole case of Hoover H bags.. :(

nonstandard hose end

They clean well, my biggest issue with these is that the hose end is nonstandard so you can't use other attachments or power nozzles, this may not matter to most people, but for me, it's a deal breaker.

Dan, that's a shame your friend threw the powerhead away. I wonder why he didn't just bypass the circuit board & wire it up like a regular powerhead with a headlight & switch would be? It should be fairly simple.

Keith, that's a really nice Celebrity you have there! I love the chrome on white, looks really nice, & I bet it cleans just as well too.

Keith, that Celebrity is gorgeous!! That was the Top of the Line Celebrity! The power boost feature on the power nozzle was very unique for any canister on the market ever. The large bag designed maintains power better than other canisters on the market.

Truly an awesome machine. I have 2 Celebrity's myself but they have the Celebrity nozzle.

Mike-- I didn't get to show enough of the Hoover's when you were at the museum a few days ago. But the truth is that the tools on the Hoover Celebrity fit the Hoover Dimension 1000, PowerMax, Futura, Spectrum, original generation Windtunnel canisters, D.A.M upright and Convertible tool sets. There are adapters available as well to go from Hoover locking tab to friction fit tools. In addition the Hoover tool set is really good! The bare floor brush on the Celebrity was known to "snow plow" dirt due to it's full perimeter of bristles that were all the same length. However, the bare floor brush on Spirit, Dimension and other canisters fixed that and is a fabulous bare floor brush. The Hoover upholstery nozzle with rubber grooming fingers is like none other on the market. It's my favorite upholstery nozzle of any vacuum ever! Hoover dusting brush rounded or rectangular both do a great job, crevice tools are a decent length. Overall Hoover had great attachments on their canisters and deep cleaning power nozzles. Well worth it to add one to your collection!

power boost

If I could find an adapter for the hose, I would love to add some hoover canisters to my collection. I get the hoover canisters mixed up, but I love the motor sound of the vacuum we played with at Tom's house, I think that was a dimension 1000, and the Hoover at Bill's house also had a great motor sound. Did those power nozzles have a power boost feature, I don't think they did, again, I get the hoover canisters and power nozzles mixed up. It would be really interesting to pair up one of those hoovers with the prolux power nozzle, or maybe the CT23, back in the day I think Hoover and Eureka made some of the best power teams, it's a shame that this is no longer the case. Would be interesting to compare Hoover's power nozzles with Eureka's VG1, VG2, or VG3. Rob, I think me and you were probably the biggest canister fans at the convention. Perhaps next year we can take a closer look at all of the Hoover power teams in the museum, I wonder if the museum has all of them.
Mike

Hoover Celebrity QS

This is my all time favorite power nozzle canister vacuum cleaner! My dream machine! have yet to fine one in decent condition at a price I can afford. I agree, the chrome is sure at attention getter! Vacuums like this are not made anymore! Today's junk is too flimsy, lacking in quality, and not many years of service for the investment.

They just don't make machines like this anymore. That's why there are people like us that find them and retain their true quality and workmanship!
