Wow that is MINT! A machine that gorgeous must only be used with Cloth HEPA bags...I recommend the Envirocare Cloth HEPA bags.
That looks brand new!

Hi Andy

Thanks for the feedback and the recommendation re the bags! I try to keep my vacuum cleaners in good condition. According to the seller , the machine was an Electrolux branch floor model that was never used, so I snapped it up! Thanks again and I hope to hear from you again sometime.

That looks awesome! Those Electrolux cleaners just can't be beat! They were built tough too.

SWEET find!!

That's my favorite vac for serious whole house cleaning...hard to beat. I call it my 'force of nature' vac. Certainly not my favorite Elux, but the most serious cleaner I have and the first Elux I bought new from a door-to-door salesperson.

Hi Kevin! Thanks for the feedback! I adore this machine. I remember when my neighbor bought her Diamond Jubilee ! They just don't make them like this anymore.

My.....

mother-in-law had given us a G prior to the Diamond J. That was my first Elux and I adored the machine (still do). But as far as raw cleaning power and that big PN, the Diamond J took things to a whole other level.

It gets a lot of bad PR about motor failure, but I've restored over a dozen of them for friends and my own use. I've never had or seen a motor problem. Our original one my ex got and her cleaning lady just beat it to death...broke the plastic parts, but it was still functioning.

Depending on who you talk to, the motor problem was remedied by Elux. Some say it was a commutator problem, others say it was motor failure in arid or desert climates. Granted the ones I've worked on may not all have had original motors.

I love my diamond Jubilee. Next to my KitchenAid dishwasher, it's one of my most precious possessions. I got mine brand-new and have had it ever since.

I had a diamond J for some time, and deeply regret selling it. I was in a tough spot and needed the cash. *Sigh* I'll find another soon! One of the Best Lux's after the G!

Hey vacuumlad1650- copy and paste this link to your web browser: rvavacuums.com

This will bring you directly to the Aerus Richmond, Virginia - Formerly Electrolux Face Book page. Scroll down some and you will see a video that was made by Ray Satterwhite's son Bryan. Ray has been with Electrolux for over 35 years and Ray and his son receives machines on trade in , they are refurbished and resold. Electrolux used to do this back in the 80's. I purchased a 1205 from them and I'm very pleased with it. I'm sure that they have a rebuilt Jubilee that they can sell to you.

I'm not gonna venture they are plentiful, but they are out there...especially local craigslist. I got a few on eBay for good prices, but that seems to be over.

Some friendly advice since I've bought/restored over a dozen of them....Elux DJ vacuums from the south have on average, dry-rotted rubber parts....no matter how the vacs were stored. No dig on the south, but I refuse to buy Elux vacs of this vintage from down there. The other caveat is that as these vacs get older and are passed around to Cretans, someone is bound to suck up something wet with either the floor attachment or the PN. This will have consequences to your canister vac and PN internally. How much depends on the incident and the frequency. The cad plated metal parts inside the canister will tell the whole story as the moisture was blown around and rusted the metal....but of course, you most likely won't be able to take the vac apart before buying.

There really isn't any other way to tell that I know of to assess water damage other than at least taking the top off the canister and looking for corroded metal parts.

Hello and thanks for the feedback! The motor has been inspected and everything thankfully is in good shape. I don't use it all the time as I keep it stored in a nice dry closet. Like I've told some of my other friends, there are a lot of brand new or barely used machines out there that have not been discovered. They are in storage ( Attics, basements, storage units, closets!!!) waiting to be found. Good luck on your search and again thanks for the feedback and advice!
