Hello, My Eureka has been having a problem. When I turn it on, it shoots a couple sparks and ticks loudly as it runs. Is there a way to fix this? It is either a model 9 or a model 11. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Shoots sparks from where? Maybe the commutator needs a turning.

The sparks come from the rear of the motor where the 4 ventilation holes are.I checked the carbon brushes later and instead of coming out, the springs pulled off the carbon.

At this point the carbons are stuck, the machine needs to be taken apart and carbons need to be pressed out, replaced and the new carbons need a reseat to clean the commutator.
