I have read online that Tacony owns Fuller however, the Fuller Brush Company Wikki page states it is owned by Victory Park Capital. Any ideas why there is this discrepancy?

fuller brush company

As far as I know, Tacony does own Fuller Brush, or at least, they manufacture their vacuums. Unlike the Riccar and Simplicity brands that are mainly sold by dealers, the Fuller Brush brand is sold on line or in some stores. While the Fuller Brush vacuums are decent, they are not as good as the ones sold under the Riccar and Simplicity brands.

No, they are their own company! Wiki isn't always correct!

Greg is correct on this one, but not with regards to the vacuums. Like many companies with a trademarked brand name, Tacony Corporation licences the rights to use the name "Fuller Brush" from it's parent company, & agrees to certain terms & conditions under which the name can be used.

Mike - Yes, very true, the Fuller Brush products aren't the same quality the Riccar & Simplicity products are. But, they sell for 1/3 the price, too. If I remember correctly, the Simplicity Verve canister, before it was discontinued & removed from the website, had a MSRP of just over $1,000 US dollars, & most dealers in Canada sell it for around $900-$1,000 CDN dollars. In comparison, the Fuller Brush Home Maid powerteam canister is selling at our local vac shop for $326 CDN dollars. "You get what you pay for". The Carpet Pro / Fuller brush lines aren't catering to high end customers, they are catering to people who are looking for performance & quality, yet want value for their dollar. The online sites & shops that sell those lines are essentially selling to the same customers that would otherwise be shopping in Walmart for their next vacuum.

fuller brush quality

Actually, if I had to choose fuller brush or the junk at Walmart, I would go for the Fuller Brush. I think Tacony also manufactures two other lower end brands, Carpet Pro and Clean Max. They also have a few higher end commercial brands, Powr-flite and Tornado. I have a powr-flite backpack vacuum, very nice, the only thing I think they should change is, rather than hard wiring the 50 foot cord to the unit, only have a pig tail cord hard wired, you can then connect an extension cord, this is how most of the other backpacks work, so I'm not sure what they were thinking by doing that, but I would consider it a design flaw. Fortunately, this was easy to fix, cut most of the cord off, leave about a foot and attach a good quality industrial plug to the end.
