My husband and I just got home from a vacation to Washington State. On the drive home, we stopped at an antique store. Out front they had this Hoover 575, with the box of attachments. I asked them how much and they said $40. I paid them and loaded it up. It has a newer bag on it. Once I got a chance to inspect what I bought, I noticed it had all the attachments with hose(all in good condition), the original bag(small hole) and the original paperwork. The paperwork included the original instruction manual, "Guarantee Bond", sales receipt, since they financed the purchase of it the original contract and all of the payment receipts.
It was originally purchased at Meier & Frank in Portland Oregon on July 11th, 1930 $76($63.50 for the vacuum and $12.50 for the attachments.) They put $2.50 down and $5 a month. Since I've been home, I've tried it out and it does work. |
