I got my two boxes of Perfect Canister "C-Style" bags in the mail today. Let me just tell you I am so impressed with their quality that I am going to start using them in all of my Lux's. They are made out of the same hepa material as Miele bags and are very lighweight. Another plus is the card board on them is slightly thicker than genuine Electrlolx bags and is very strong. I won't have to worry about the occassional bag card board imploding when I vacuum causing the machine to squeal and loose suction. I vacuumed my house today with a Model L using one of thse new bags and I couldn't tell any loss of suction where as with a genuine Lux bag I could notice some suction loss after just a few rooms. I could go on and on but I'll stop. Here are some pictures of what they look like. I got them from my long time very close friend Tom Gasko in Festus, MO. I order supplies from him all the time and he was nice enough to order these bags for me. Well anyways, here are some pics.

Here is the back of the box.

Hopefully this is clear enough for everyone to read.

Here is one of the bags. I liked the light green/white color combination!

I have to admit something here...I too use and love a model 1205 Lux. It is so smooth and quiet. It has great suction and I only use it on my wood and tile floor. My good friend, Jimmy, (vibrabeat) who I have known for years gave it to me. It was his mother's cleaner. She did not particularly like it so he gave it to me. I thought that was very generous of him. Now, I am a Hoover guy through and through. However, I just love this Lux. I put on a Hoover hose so it uses all of my Hoover Convertible attachments. I also found these great bags distributed by the Hoover Company for any Lux canister. My really good friend Sabrina who worked at the Hoover Employee Sales Center for years put a case of them back for me just before they closed. She too is very generous. But since the thread was about alternative Lux bag options, here are the Hoover versions for all of you Hoover guys out there. No longer do you have to feel that you are a traitor to the Hoover Company! You too can have Hoover filtration in front of that Lux motor!

---you guys do know that this is a joke right????

It is true though that I do use these bags in my Lux just because I have a bunch of them. I can't seem to tell the difference in them. A Lux bag is a Lux bag to me. They all catch dirt in the real world!

I do like the look of those bags for regular Lux use.

I'll get me some next time I'm in America.

Tom, I thank you for your honest appraisal of the smooth & quiet Lux 1205. I heartily approve of your hooverizing the hose and yeah, a Hoover Filter Bag is again, a high compliment to a worthy opponent...er...competitor...um...brand.

As you will read in another post I made tonight, I have come out and declared myself to be quite a Hoover Fan after practical and
'vivisectional' experiance with them. :-)

Tom!

After working at Hoover for 5 years, I, too feel the same way you do about those bags! I think I have a case of them buried in storage. And they're so inexpensive, I don't think twice about changing them after a handful of uses (just like a type-C bag).

I had no idea that Hoover distributed generic Lux bags. Did they also make bags for other machines too? What did Hoover NOT sell back in the day? LOL I think it's very cool that Hoover sold not just vacuums, but blenders, irons, etc. etc. That's a lot more than Electrolux ever did. :-)

P.S. Can you still get those bags? I would like to have a pack of them for my collection.

Logan...

Hoover made bags for everyone under the sun. They used to market them under the "Norca" brand with other accessories. Hoover made all kinds of appliances to go head to head with GE. The president of the company declared that he could put GE out of business! How funny! I see now that Electrolux has their name on all kinds of major appliances. Does anyone know if these items are well made or is it just more made in China junk?

Since Logan posted pictures of the bags, I thought I would add a few more of my "perfect Canister" that I purchased from Andy (TurboAce) on Wednesday...
I love it, love it, love it - Opening the carton was like taking a trip back in time to 1987...

What's that thing between the crevice tool and dusting brush?? A wand hanger?

Yes - It is a wall hanger for the power nozzle - The top of the sheeth snaps into it, and the hanger grabs onto it..

I don't use it since I still have the Eletrolux Storage Hanger I purchased when I got my mothers Marquis Back in 1987 - At the time it held the hose, power nozzle, combo floor tool, crevice tool, and aluminum wands...

With the new tools being different it only holds the hose, power nozzle, crevice tool, and bare floor brush, but will not hold the telescoping wand...

Funny you mention Hoover bags

UK supermarket Tesco sells cheapy vacuum cleaners, and the bags are distributed by Hoover UK.

Electrolux 1205.................

Well Tom, Im glad to hear you are putting that 1205 to such good use.......you use it a lot more than my Mom ever did! Its only fitting for you to have it since you have her 70's area sculpted orange shag carpet in your Hoover showroom! Since I have several Electrolux's, I have tried just about every brand or off brand of bag in them that is made......all seem to work well with that powerful Electrolux fan........but those Hoover brand bags are really outstanding....!!!!!

Daniel, how do you like the brush roll on the Perfect power nozzle?

The brush roll on the Pefect is the same/similar as the newer style Lux brush rolls with the extra curved rows of bristles. I put the new style brush roll on a PN5 with my Silverado and PN6A with my Marquis and was astounded with the results. It didn't put any extra drag on the motors and they clean like a dream. (Not that they didn't before). I just love the newer design.

Here is a pic of the PN5.

New Lux Brush Roll

bimmer740's profile picture
I have to agree with Logan, the new Lux brush roll with its extra turn is a huge improvement. My PN just seems to pull itself across the carpet. Now if I could only hook it up to use with my central vac...

I tried a Perfect canister yesterday at the vac store I have used for many years. The owner is also a member of the VCCC but I don’t think he posts on this forum. Anyway he and his business partner have always been extremely nice to me, and while I was there yesterday he showed me the Perfect canister. It does have wonderful suction and the PN seems to be very good too. The Perfect PN sounds pretty close to a Lux PN but a little more high pitch. The color of the machine is great, but I wish the hose and the wand sheath were the same matching color just like a true Electrolux. The only thing is I wouldn’t pay 800+ for a Perfect. I think if the price were around 600, it would be more inline with the competition and its features. For 800 or so, one can buy a nice Miele that’s probably far more technologically more advanced than a Perfect canister and has a better warranty. Still I'm sure I will purchase a Perfect someday since it reminds me of my Grand Marquis but on steroids.

hey Logan

I have a question.. Will these Perfect Hepa Bags fit my lux 89?? They look like they would,,, and if so how do I order some?

Perfect canister C101

I'm shocked! It's almost a carbon-copy from the heyday of Electrolux. I've got to get one myself. Can somebody tell me where these cleaners are made? Has anyone dissected one to see the quality of the motor?

Post# 39335 , Reply# 28   5/2/2008 at 09:10 (5,835 days old) by electroluxxxx (……)

these cleaners are made in china as you can see they are made of metal. also if you look at the plastic the quality of the plastic is not that great but overall a great machine that I would highly consider buying. basically this is a redbadged electrolux vacuum made by a different company.
