I was recently at the Thrift store looking for some clothes for my wife to work around the house in with her, and I "happened" into the vacuum area... okay, well it was deliberate! I couldn't resist! And wouldn't you know it, there was a Kirby sitting there, all stained up. Well, it didn't take me long to get a hold of it and take it to see if it powered on (which it did.) I immediately bought it and took it home. I made a video of it when we got home, but I wasn't feeling well, so it isn't a comprehensive video of it. Anyways, since getting it, I found out that the only reasons they got rid of it were because:

1) The Mini-Emtor was clogged... completely. I'd say never once removed. No, I'd actually beg to say it went to the laundry room and sucked out about 15 loads of dryer lint all at once!! Yeesh!
2) The brush roll was never adjusted down from use. They were worn down to the next bristle line (II).
3) It wasn't "shiny."

Well, needless to say, all of this was fixed in about the course of three hours. The Mini-Emtor was unclogged, the brush roll was adjusted, and you bet I shined and polished it! Thank you, previous owner!

Say hello to my FrankenKirby Ultimate G!

I almost think I might keep the GSix bag on it!

Nice! That's kind of the reverse of my G5 'frankenkirby', which has an Ultimate G bag against the G5's burgundy color scheme. The original cord was also in bad shape, so by luck or fate, I found a good deal on a light gray G3 cord, which helps make the bag look more like it belongs. Didn't really set out to change the color scheme; it was just a matter of picking up parts on the cheap, but I like the result.

That's a nice break, getting the cord like that. If I ever came across the correct bag for this model under the right circumstances (i.e. free or trade), I think I would indeed get it. However, the color scheme now is perfectly acceptable, and doesn't look bad on it. That being said, I'm not going to buy a new bag for it, unless I find a bagless GSix, in which case then I'd swap the bag on the Ultimate G now onto said GSix and then I could justify buying the correct bag for the Ultimate G. My wife seems to think my 21 vacuums is enough though. (Aww, bummer!) So I really can't (currently) justify getting another Kirby! (Rats!)
