So this is something what I really wanted to share.
I bought just for curiosity very cheap Vax U85-I2-BE Impact bagless upright vacuum cleaner. These cost only around 50€ so quality is quite weak. It has only 750 watt (7 amp) motor and it uses single cyclone system. However when I measured the airflow using the baird airflow meter it pulled 4. That is very surprising when for exhample Shark Rotator Pro only pulls 2 and it has 1200 watt (11 amp) motor. AND most Dysons pulls around 2. Yes I know, that bagged vacuums have better airflow, but I think this is very surprising. Mike |

Yes, but that wasn't point of this test. Of course many owners ignore the filter maintenance. And yes it looses airflow when the filter gets clogged. With the regular filter maintenance it performs as it should.
I have far better vacuums, but the fact that this was able to pull reasonable good airflow was the point. |

Have to agree-that is impressive with such a vacuum. |

I think this goes a long way in proving the point that you don't need a large motor but a (relatively) straight and simple air path to get high levels of airflow.I mean a 12 amp Dyson has the potential to have high airflow but when you stick 20+ cyclones between the hose and motor, you start to needlessly over complicate things.
