Hey guys/gals! Through the course of my usual perusing for vintage vacs, I ran across this Craigslist listing for a VERY dusty Model XXX. I don't know anything about the machine, or the seller, but based on the pictures, it appears to be a pre-war model (based on the flat runners, rear exhaust port, and what I can see of the bag door handle). Anyway, it's located somewhere around Lima, OH if anyone might be interested in it!

That's a 1938 or 1939 model with the basket style exhaust filter. VERY Rare. Very quiet 475 watt motor. I have that same model, in pristine shape. Whomever gets that one is VERY lucky.

A TRUE

Prewar, contrary to popular belief, this is what a pre war Lux looks like, cast aluminum rear section, basket filter, the only difference in these and a 37 is the louvers, the first, 1937,has extra louvers over the blower opening,I see tons of 30s that are said to be pre war that are not, just because it has flat runners does not make it pre war, if it has a chrome plated steel rear section ..its POST WAR, the Pre War models also had a few other things different, first the floor tool and dusting brush were stamped, not cast ,the Electrolux side trim was aluminum, not chrome plated steel, and the old Electrolux emblem is stamped on the bottom of the rear housing, also the wands have ELECTROLUX stamped around them at the slotted end. These really are getting to be RARE!
