I was browsing Craigslist and found this listing in my area for some vacuum cleaners for sale. The seller is asking $150 for all of it and states that they're 40 to 50 vacuums there. From the pictures posted, they all look rather rough to me, but perhaps someone might be able to use them for parts, possibly fix up some, etc. They are located in Richmond, KY. I would like to go see them, but my wife would throw a fit and a half if I did, so I'll pass this along to you guys!

Look at all the black mold in there! I wouldn't touch that stuff with a 10-foot crevice tool.

What's sad is you know there's got to be someone's diamond in the rough there under all that.

Get a dust mask on (or 3M respirator), get rubber gloves and start digging! Some of the best machines I've had came out of moldy old piles like that. Is there's a will, there's a way to save musty old vacs!

Amen to that!!
I've had other collectors look at me like I'm crazy because I've dove into piles like this while they stood back or outside and waited. Then they go eww why did you want that eww you're going to put that in your car gross. Then I hear oh wow I would have never believed that could be cleaned up, it's all original and in perfect condition and so rare etc etc. Don't be afraid to get dirty if you have those dream machines to be found because I guarantee this is where you are going to find them.

Getting dirty and inhaling potentially deadly black mold are two different things.......
