Today, in the Philadelphia suburbs, I went to my usual thrift haunts. I found a beautiful light blue Concept One, with power drive and cord reel. Just about int condition. an entire $12.00 ! I also found lots of paper bags, green paper, genuine A, Z, H, and S bags for a song. I also spied original Simplicity bags, (original tag was $10.00 today, $2.00 I guess that was a deal. I also got genuine Oreck bags. for other people. Last time I was in those shops, I got a beautiful chrome power scrubber/polisher/shampooer AND another Handivac... the one with the cute little floor nozzle. I'll give everything a little rub wit a cloth and post pics.
Sure proof that these things are still "out there". I can imagine the garbage that replaced this Concept cleaner. I'm acquiring quite an array of Concept vacuums.

Nice find! I remember several of my neighbors had Concepts when I was kid in the late 80s and I thought they were so cool. Whenever my mom's Electrolux Olympia was on one of it's many trips to the repair shop she would borrow a Hoover Concept 2. Having used the Electrolux for most of my life and then using the Concept 2 it felt like I was actually deep cleaning the rugs. I was kind of bummed when my mom ended up buying a TOL Sears Powermate to replace the Electrolux because it was easier for her to manage than the Concept. I'd love to find one but refuse to pay the high shipping fees most are asking for on Ebay.

Cleaning Up Your Finds

Good Morning John Just a FYI for you. Meguires makes a product called plastic polish, it's a cleaner and a polish in one and it works fantastic on the hard plastic of the vacuums and numerous other things too including irons, handles and bases on coffee makers, handles on fry pans and the list goes on. Not real expensive either. It's truly amazing how well it works and makes things look like new again. Check it out.

I never heard of that particular product before. I'll get some this weekend. We're all always looking for the 'perfect polish' for these machines. I'll post pics soon. Thanks, again.
