what do you think of mop vacuum attachments

So, was thinking of getting my girl friend these.

Should these be used in adition to a hard floor brush, or can they replace that attachment, especially the dry mop, I would think that one would be used more. Can they also remove larger objects such as cat litter or can they only remove fine dust? Are they worth getting or for hard floors, is it better to just stick with the hard floor brush. My apartment is also mostly hard floors and I just use a floor brush for that, do the mops offer any advantage?
