I cleaned up a really nice Electrolux Model E-Automatic for my younger brother whose dozenth plastic junk machine blew up. He's really excited to be getting a REAL vacuum cleaner!

I wasn't able to get my hands on a pigtail electric hose, so I gave him the only one I have. I hope one will turn up sooner or later.

This machine is a real gem. It was used very little and the motor hums like new. I know he's going to love it!!

That will be a very nice gift! It looks to be in great condition! I believe my grandmother had this model Electrolux, in a cream color. Very durable and quiet.

I've been restoring and giving Diamond J's to friends and family for some time. The are a force of nature when it comes to actual cleaning and I'm not having any of the infamous motor problems with them. Probably after all this time, the DJ's with the bad motors have weeded themselves out.

I picked the DJ because it was my first new Elux and they are still pretty plentiful in good condition.

People love these old Elux vacs all fixed up....how can they not?

That's a nice machine and a wonderful gift. It will definitely outlast an untold number of plasticrap vacs. I like the polished aluminum PN4. I recently acquired one like it to use in place of the PN5 that came with my Diamond J. I'm just a sucker for shiny metal.

Funny.....

you say that....you're the 'lefty' correct? I remember your complaint about the PN5 et all. I never thought about that before you mentioned it.

I bought an Anniversary PN4 that I never restored(sticker still on it). It took me a long time to find that little three-prong turquoise pigtail that goes from the head into the lower part of the wand. Looks like a great PN and probably better than the previous PN's which I have. At least you cover more area if nothing else.

About the anniversary model pn....

The 50th anniversary model, which came with the Golden jubilee was a pn-2, not a pn-4. Not that it's a big deal. Just pointing it out.
