Opinions On The Perfect Power Team

Unfortunately, I agree with the user reviews saying the durability of the product is spotty & manufacturer support is questionable. Having said that, reality is most people will be taking it to a repair shop if it breaks, regardless if bought online or thru a vac shop, & they will be the ones to source parts & deal with the manufacturer on warranty issues.

As for the quality of the product, they have had their issues, but it seems they have sorted those out. The cordreel was a fault & was redesigned. Another issue was the mounts inside the powerhead that attach the motor & components was poor quality & needed a redesign & better materials used. In addition, compared to the Electrolux motors originally used in the Electrolux canisters this copies, the Ametek Advantek motor used in the Perfect C101 is considered a "disposable" motor, the carbon brushes are under the field coils, not on top, & there is no way to change them & service the motor. My thinking is that the RPM's the motor spins at are so fast to create the 125" waterlift it produces, that it wears the entire motor out so it cannot be repaired, just thrown away if it breaks down. The main issue the Perfect canisters still have is the hose, like n0oxy said above the suction relief valve wearing out & not staying closed eventually is a issue, plus these aftermarket Electrolux hoses tend to have the PN receptacle that supplies power to the wand wear out prematurely & require replacement. However, if one wanted to, you could buy a genuine Aerus Electrolux hose to use on the Perfect & it would work fine with no issues.

I have recommended, & still do recommend the Perfect canister for those that want something simple, with no electronics, & LOTS of power, that cleans effectively. Having said that, for those that are able to take things apart & do repairs, I do first recommend buying a older Electrolux metal canister, such as the Marquise & Grand Marquise, & refurbishing it. There is a genuine Aerus Electrolux motor, made by the former motor manufacturer Electro Motor, that pulls 117" waterlift, so same power as the Perfect C101. Plus the powerheads are easy to rebuild, the metal Electrolux canisters are dead simple to work on & hardly break down, & the one distinct advantage Aerus Electrolux has is they have the Automatic Control bag change feature, that allows you to customize & set when you want the cleaner to alert you a bag change is required. Perfect canister vacuums DO NOT have that feature, & it is one feature that really is beneficial to have on this design, since the Type C bags, whether paper 4 ply or HEPA Cloth, are known to clog a little quicker than other models. If you rebuild a Electrolux, it is a cleaner that will be great value, do a terrific job cleaning, & last a long time for it's owner.

Checkrate/Likes *perfect power team* Yes, I have the metal one, model C101, and the plastic one, model C103. They are classic Electrolux clones in a lot of ways. The metal model uses an Ametek two stage motor and it's quite powerful. That motor has also been used in some central vacuums. The plastic model is very light, it uses a one stage motor so it's a bit higher pitch, but is still quite powerful. These vacuums take C bags, just like many of the classic Electrolux's take. You can also get Hepa cloth bags which I think filter better than the paper bags that Aerus makes. The power nozzle is similar to what Aerus provides, but I don't think it's an Aerus power nozzle, but it's similar. The hose connection is standard so you could pair it with a power nozzle from another brand if you want. Both models use the same electrolux hose used by the metal models such as the 1205, super J, etc. The hoses also have a switch on them to turn the power nozzle on and off. The only issue I have had with them is that the suction relief slider did not stay closed, it would always move to the open position causing a decrease in suction. I taped it closed to solve the issue since I usually don't need to decrease the suction anyway. Let me know if you want to know anything else about these vacuums but I think they are good and have no problem recommending them.

Checkrate/Likes *Perfect vacuum* I heard that the new Perfect vacs are so powerfull that you can't use electrolux bags they would explode so you xan only use the cloth perfect bags in them./ I don't know if this is true or not so I don't even use the vacuum besides you can' get Perfect bags around here in wyoming anyway...

Checkrate/Likes *perfect bags* Both vacuums that I mentioned are quite powerful. I have never tried an Aerus bag in them because the Perfect bags are cloth instead of paper and filter much better, so even if you could use an Aerus bag in them, there would be no reason to.

Checkrate/Likes 1 According to user reviews of a large online vendor selling the Perfect brand they sometimes have spotty durability and vendor support is questionable. I suppose if one rolls the dice it can be a great acquisition.

Checkrate/Likes *metal electrolux vacuums and perfect power nozzle* I do have two metal Electrolux vacuums, a 1205 and an Olympia. They are very good vacuums, probably not as powerful as some of today's motors, but they have no problem cleaning anything you give them. And I find the sound of these motors to be much more pleasant than the screaming motors that are so common now. If you decide to go with one of the perfect vacuums, you can pair it with a different power nozzle such as one from Wessel Werk, Sebo or Lindhaus if you decide you don't like the one that it comes with. I do like that the Perfect hoses provide a switch for turning the power nozzle on and off, the Aerus hoses don't have this feature. Mike

Checkrate/Likes Haven't used the canister model but I have used the central vacuum kit before. I think it performed and sounded exactly like a Electrolux.
