I need an Electrolux electric pigtail hose with a quick-connect handle [see photo for example]. I am repairing a family member's vacuum cleaner at no cost, so I'd like to get a nice genuine Electrolux hose (the generics are crap) for as little money as possible.

Thanks very much in advance!

Hi CRL

I made a few calls...no Luck. In my mind I mixed it up with a Generic. I can still order them genuine, but they go for about $100 my cost.

Sorry!

Thanks for checking, Andy.

"In other news," I also need that plastic collar that attaches to the machine-end coupler to keep the hose from turning. Anyone???! :)

Those plastic collars are pretty scarce...I need a few myself. The new hoses come with one. Have you ought about buying a new hose for yourself and giving them the old one?
I would be glad to order one for you on my Aerus discount. Just let me know!
Glad to help...

Thanks but $100+ is just too steep for me.

We talked about this before in here at length. Since the early 2000's the aftermarket hoses have been steadily going downhill; chrome coming off the hose connect end, slightly different diameters in the hose end making it really hard to use regular accessories, hoses splitting/leaking in just a matter of a few yrs, swivel ends grinding instead of smooth etc, etc.

If you look at the vendors, the aftermarket hoses are mostly Asian and yet the prices vary wildly for the same hose model. I've decided to just troll eBay for original hoses that have 'Electrolux' printed on the handle.

Other than going to Aerus for $100+, I think this is your only worthwhile option. I agree that spending $100+ on a hose for a vintage vac is just insane, especially if you pick the entire vac and accessories up for $50 or less.....lol.

I bought a similar hose like the one pictured for my G with the collar. It was around $90 and it was aftermarket in the early 2000's. It has survived all these yrs....I got lucky. I about died at the price paid. I have two G's with accessories that I paid less for together!

eBay

Be patient and persistent, I got one recently for $45 shipped. It's the genuine one with lux on the handle

Totally agree.....

with that. Be patient on eBay. Colby's price range is spot on...right now at least.

I could probably get a used woven one--gold or teal that were made for the Model Ls and maybe a brown & white replacement that was made during the Oly 1 era, but they'd likely have to be resealed. I doubt I'd find any hose cuffs. I couldn't get anything for a month or better, though. The guy is quite a distance from where I live, and I have no plans of going there soon.

Thanks for all the replies. I received a beautiful coiled vinyl pigtail hose from Lane. We traded some stuff, but I think I got the better end of the trade! :)
