Saw this at a Goodwill for $8 and I thought "how bad could it be?" In the end, all it needed (besides removing the awful mold smell and many scratches) was a belt and HEPA bag. It even came with the original manual.
Since this machine somewhat resembles a Riccar/Simplcity, which came first, the Panny or the Tacony? Who made who (AC/DC)? Here's the before pics... Bill |

It sounds moderately pleasant and has fabulous tool airflow (think 115 CFM from the hose). Water lift was OK, measuring 71" from the hose end with a bag installed.

To answer who came first between Panasonic or Riccar = Panasonic. Riccar later copied Panasonic, before that Riccar used to be made by Panasonic.
The first Platinum models were sold in the late 90's. I liked these first Platinum models the best because I really liked that gorgeous hunter green color on them. |
