Help?

First I would start by looking at the attached. Which I found by googling the brand and model, parts. Then I would take the hood off completely. Unhook the bag spring at the top. At the base of the bag, there may be a small nut and bolt to be loosened and removed. This should allow you to remove the bag.

Dear God, it's simpler than that

Lookat the bottom of the bag, in the front,  just behind the hood.  Thyere's a little white plastic clip... metal on older ones. First,  detatch it at the top,  either a "diving board" or a spring, hooking it to a loop, as part of the switch.  With the bag "down"  push that white plastic clip at the bottom to the left.  Once that is cleared, the entire bag assembly will be free...  not hard at all.

"Dear God"?

Really? John, did you THINK that could possibly be taken as a rude remark?

I was trying to help based on a vacuum I just finished refurbishing.

no, that's not what I meant at all!!!!

I simply meant that is much easier than you'd think. If I could scan the pic in the manual, I would, showing it. SO sorry if you took it wrong... NOT my intention, at all.

My friend, Tom A. called

gottahaveahoove's profile picture
He said, "I KNOW you were simply saying that it wasn't that complicated". True. There is a simple pic in a Hoover manual, illustrating it. I don't have one near me, or, I'd tell the page. Hope it helped.

You did nothing wrong John. Your description would have helped me better than a diagram, had I not known how to remove a hoover bag....

Sincerely,

PR-21

Garry, would you do us all a favor please?

LIGHTEN UP!!!

Anybody who knows John, even people who just read his comments & posts here on Vacuumland, knows he has excellent manners & is extremely polite in his comments & posts. And the odd time he DOES offend someone, it's definitely unintentional. And even if he did come across as offensive this time, when did saying something like "Dear God" become a crime?! I don't know many people, regardless of their faith, or non believer, or their personal background, that would be offended by someone like John who is a Catholic & who does believe in God saying something as simple as that phrase when talking & trying to offer some friendly advice. Most religions do have a "God" of some soft, they may just use another term for it. And if somebody DID have a problem with it, I would have a problem with THEM & consider that person immoral & evil! Most people I have met with very different religions, such as Muslims, would never object to the word "God" being used in a casual conversation.

As far as I'm concerned, the one who has been offensive in this thread is YOU, Garry! You have a TON of nerve coming on here trying to criticize & belittle someone for making a simple phrase in a thread on a online posting! I think you should be ashamed of yourself, trying to attack John like this, & I do think you owe John a apology on Vacuumland.

John - Don't worry, in my mind you did NOTHING wrong! Don't let people like Garry with their small, narrow minds get to you. In my opinion, you're one of Vacuumland's most respected & upstanding members, & a example for the rest of us.

Rob

Rob, you're terribly kind

While I KNOW I did nothing wrong, those who don't really know me don't realize that I (repeating)was stressing..... that all of that work was nor neede.
I'm moving past this now, let's all do that.
As we know, well, the Hoover people do, that assembling or disassembling those Convertibles is simple.
I'm sure Garry realizes my intention by now.
As far a manners, etc., I try my best.
Again, you are as kind as can be, and, I appreciate that.
We all like to hear kind things said about us.
You are a class act as well.
John

John, on the second thought.....

we should have dealt with this privately. I think I understand what you meant.

All is forgiven and forgotten.

By the way, it's all explained on page 4 of the owner's manual. Good luck. Now, on to nicer, more pleasant things, OK?
