I received my royal 9700 today with no packing material, so to say I was pissed is an understatement. I'm in need of the top cord hook bolt assembly and the bottom rug plate.

What type of oil do I need to use and how much do you add the the little port and how often.

Colby,

Luckily you can still get certain replacement parts for these machines.

1-259319-000 is your replacement top cord hook (it replaced 1-259318-000). Other hardware to go with it would be 1-003884-000 for the spring, 1-597743-000 as your top cord hook mounting screw, and 1-884708-000 as the top cord hook stud.

1-672270-000 is your replacement rug plate (if the brush roll in it has hex ends), otherwise you'll need to look for discontinued part number 1-285270-000 which was used on nozzles whose brush rolls have square ends.

Good luck finding what you need!

The type of oil to use is medium-weight SAE 30. Never use lightweight or sewing machine oil. Royal recommends you oil the rear bearing approximately once a year for general household use; but if used more often, then oil the bearing more frequently. When oiling, apply three or four drops, and take care to ensure that the oil enters the tube and does not overflow down the edge of the tube.

What's the best site to look for these parts?

Colby,

Try eBay, for one.

Also try www.vacpartsplusstore.com/...

Otherwise, you can call the folks at Royal at 1-800-321-1134, and give them the exact part numbers I'd just mentioned.

Ben,
Thanks so much I placed my order with vac parts plus, what a cool site, can't believe I've never heard of it before. No luck on eBay with anything, not even a bottom plate.
