I went to an estate sale down the street from me and found this cute little guy thrown in the corner of the garage, so of course I scooped him up since I didn't have a Eureka in my collection. The only problem is they did not know what happened to the hose. It did come with the wands and the one floor brush. I haven't cleaned it up yet but I did plug him in and he runs like a champ with what feels like great suction at the port.

Does anyone have an extra hose or maybe the hose ends that they would be willing to sell? I am not real picky about color as long as it will work on this unit.

Thanks
Charlie

if all elese fails, I have a correct colored machine end for

that. And then you would just need to find a metal Eureka hose end, any one would really work, even from a later 80's Princess. Eureka used that same chrome hose end with the black suction bleeder from that period of time, all the way to about 1990.

P.S. I thought you might like to know that your Roto-Matic is from the 1959 gold and green, 50th Anniversary set.  That marked the 50 years since Eureka had been founded in 1909. There were two other pieces to this set, a Mobile Air canister (which was a new model), and the NEW improved 260 Automatic upright. I will add pics of my Mobile Air and 260 Automatic to let you see the other parts of this set. Congrats on the new find!

I love your upright. My great grandmother had one similar to that when I was growing up. I remember she had red shag carpet and this hideous red and black velvet sectional in the living room. When I would go over and it was vacuum day, I would always ask her to let me vacuum, she said as long as I would rake to. The first time she said this she almost fell out of her chair laughing because I got the rake and went outside to rake the leaves. Didn't understand at the time that she meant that I had to rake the carpet. She liked the carpet raked before and after using the vacuum for whatever reason. At least the rest of the house had plush carpet so I only had to rake the living room. lol

50th Anniversary Eurekas

Very nice Golden Crown! And just down the street. Many of us and most door to door salesmen in the past would know most families and their vacuums on the streets of their town.Hoover would later use more colors than Eureka but these Eurekas were possibly the most attractive vacs ever. They were among the first to use the newly designed attachment set and as you found had plenty of suction.
I just today went out at lunch and found the matching deluxe,2 speed upright in amazing original condition except for replaced white cord.
Good luck on hose and parts.I don't think I have extras for these styles but am and will be sorting through much more.
