Can anyone comment on the function of these HEPA construction F&G style bags on a Type A Royal Upright? 9 for $13 is not a bad deal. This may be simpler than converting type A vacuums to Type B so you can use Royal Type B HEPA bags.

I will be trying Envrocare lines F&G bags next and keep one Type A Royal bag unused.
I attached a few pictures for comparison between a standard paper Type A and the Lined Envirocare. No claims of HEPA construction but 99.7% filtration for about $1/bag. www.amazon.com/Sanitaire-... |

I love them. I have 5 Pugs in my house so lots of dog hair and we live out in the country with gardens etc, so lots od dust and dirt. Anyhow I notice airflow has lasted twice as long, I don't change bag as often (even though I should lol) and even though there's still some smell when bag is full it's not near as smelly as a paper bag.
Example: I have been using my silver king bagless canister as my daily driver. Now these have terrible filtration after a couple of uses and I find myself emptying it without much dirt and wasting the expensive filter. I put a Kenmore hepa 5055 bag in it and last night I thought hmmm I've been using the crap out of this thing and still have FULL suction I must not have much dirt. I checked it and OMG it was plumb full like the kind of full we complain about with a lazy house wife who wont change her bag until its splitting open. Kind of ashamed of myself lol So this is the long round about way to answering your question. Yes I like the hepa bags |

Thanks for taking the plunge and giving them a try. Can you upload some close up images of the bags? When one is done can you cut a square our and go through the layers. Glad you like them now what do I do with 8 Envirocare bags? V.A.C. bags seem like the ticket for older F & G/Royal A types...

What's with that brand? Are they a replacement for the perfect machines? I've noticed our suppliers no longer carry the perfect C bags but V.A.C. bags are suggested as an alternate.
I've always found the thought of using poly bags in an older style eureka interesting, but i decided to go with an ST conversion instead. I feel like the fill tube of F+Gs get squashed by the rest of the bag and chokes off airflow. After installing both the converter and the bag i noticed a quite a difference in the machine's performance. The height had to be adjusted up, i think, 2 levels to prevent the machine from clinging too hard.

Vacuum America Clean was hired by Perfect to produce a replacement HEPA bag. They are the same filtration quality, but the cardboard isn't so thick. I am a fan of their bags.
I'm still lost over Envirocare ending production of the Electrolux C bag. I was shocked when Steel City stopped stocking them... |
