I am hoping one of the viewers on this site can help me with some information. What can anyone tell me about the pictured Apex? Year made, how good a vacuum, very many around, reliability, etc.
I am trying to help a friend with this. My knowledge of Apex is fairly limited and my interest in them has always been the uprights. Thanks! |

Good by Consumer Reports in 48, Apex made top notch products in those days. |

Apex private labeled A LOT. Here is an Air Queen (ha ha) and an Arkay. Arkay was a group of vac shops that were owned by the same company. Air Queens were sold in retail vacuum stores. They all used the new Lamb Motor (same motor as Lewyt, Filter Queen 350, Compact C-1 and C-2, etc.). Decent machine, strange hose locking device, involving turning the coupling and a rubber ring expanding to hold the hose end tight. All in all, a decent vacuum.
Apex was ALSO making a tank cleaner with their own Apex built motor. The 'economy' models used the Lamb motor. |
