I've noticed I don't really have a sweeper that I specificly use more than another. Sure, I have an Avalir and a Sentria that I could use every day considering how new they are, but I don't. I try to keep all my machines in operating condition, of course there are always a few that need work. Anyone else not really use a daily driver?

First of all, I don't have pets, so I do outside twice a year, spring and fall, which includes washing the siding and windows etc. Inside I clean each week thoroughly without being compulsive about it. I try to rotate my newer machines for this and use the vintage for pickups through the week. With that said, today, I did use my Vintage Hoover 29 to do all the carpeted areas and my Aerus Canister to vacuum the tile floors and under my beds. Next week I will probably us my Rainbow E2 Black for the weekly cleaning and run one of my vintage vacuums for pickups in between. I do try an rotate all my machines regularly. Do I have some I like more than others? Sure I do, but I feel like it is necessary to use them all in order to keep them running like they should. I was even lucky enough to get a few NOS Hoover Vault machines when the Hoover Center was downsizing...Plus I stored some vintage machines in boxes in the garage (which is heated due to the furnace and water heater in the garage....)I rotate them as well. (PS Thanks Charlie for letting me purchase this beautiful Hoover 29 from you several years back, it is truly a great machine, my mom's girlfriend had one of these that she bought when she got married in the early 50's brand new and was still using it when she passed away. She had it serviced several times threw the years and finally had to have a new outer bag, which looked very good with her machine, DVC brand with vertical strips down the side). Her daughter has it now, still going strong. They don't make them like they used to, yuck disposable vacs.....)

I don't have a real daily driver. The Kirby I use most is my G5 'Frankenkirby' but I just as often grab one of my Electrolux canisters and there's no rhyme or reason whether I grab my Diamond J or one of my 1205s. Oddly enough, I seldom use my Super J or either of my Kirby Gsixes.

Sometimes the choice of machine comes down to the task at hand. If I'm cleaning up cat litter, I use one of my Hoover QuikBroom stick vacs.

I don't really have a "daily driver." I use almost all of my machines regularly, though I have my favorites. In between big jobs, for cat litter tracked out of the box, or the just the living room rug, I'll use one of my Pre-G Kirbys. My favorite is my Tradition, which I've converted to Hepa Bags with the Heritage top and fill tube.

Big cleaning days, I break out my Rainbow since I have the small Rainbow mate to vacuum the furniture. I use my Electrolux model G. It's whatever hits my mood that day!

I mus admit to been the same, their is no daily driver, Its normally the machine I have just finished restoring that gets used and then onto another, My Hoover Air steerable is probably the Go to vacuum if nothing else is available, Although the most used vacuum in our home ins the dyson V6 cordless. As its everyone's first choice for cleaning up.
Due to the animals and kids ...... I some times wonder who messes more We vacuum every day, Were I live the climate is very good, so open doors are the norm, and now the wind is blowing so leaves and stuff get blown inside so some times we vacuum more than once a day

A select few get more use than the others

There isn't "one" machine that gets used the most but there are probably about 10-15 machines (mostly canisters) in my collection that get the most use. If all I had to use was my Rainbow E2 Black, I'd be fine just using that.

I have six out of seven machines that work and I always tend to rotate between every one of them.

I use whatever hits the mood!!! Sometimes it's a Hoover Decade 800 upright, sometimes it's a Hoover WidePath upright, sometimes Simplicity Verve canister. I love my 2 Panasonic Jet-Flo canisters. Still love my Hoover PowerMax canister. So it's all variable depending on my mood!

Only because it's built into the walls, I guess my Dual-Motor Vacuflo (or as I call it, the "Spencer") is the daily driver. It's so convenient to use the Hide-A-Hose or the VRoom, or even the Wally Flex in the laundry room. I do miss using my other vacuums that I keep at home (have 800 or so at work - but only 19 at home), but it takes longer to get one out, plug it in, and then put it away after use. Letting the Hide-A-Hose just suck back into the walls is the quickest way I ever found of putting away a vacuum.

don't have a particular daily driver

I don't think I have one that I use more than others either, I'm not a fan of uprights, so my collection is canisters, central vacuum units and backpacks. I would say the canisters get the most use though since a central vacuum unit requires you to get out the hose, although, connecting a hose directly to a unit is very powerful. Also, backpacks take a few minutes to plug in and to buckle the straps.

I tend to use different vacuum each time I clean. However for the bare floors and above the floor cleaning I always use the canister like Lux Royal, Philips P74 Electronic, Nilfisk GM80.
For carpets mostly uprights like Kirby Gsix or Shark Rotator. Sometimes powerhead canisters.
Kirby is mainly for giving deep clean for my carpets.

It's hard for me to have a 'daily driver' when I don't vacuum daily... or even weekly (maybe weakly), for that matter. I'm just an all around slack-ass when it comes to housework, but my cats don't seem to mind.

No longer have a DD

I used to only have my Heritage, but as of recent I have acquired a Tradition and a 517. The 517 is a kick to use, although it will soon need new bearings, I believe. I love my Heritage, though. Fully restored and all new parts. For deep cleaning, the Heritage is king.
