Hi All,

Something I have been thinking about for a while since Miele have released the new bagless cylinder cleaner is that I would love to know what era or model has the strongest suction as they have used different types of motors over the years. Do the older Miele models have stronger suction than the newer versions?

miele motors

This vacuum is not available in the United States yet, but, at least here, I think all of the current canisters use what Miele calls the Miele vortex motor, and it's 1200 watts. I have a C1 Olympus and the suction and airflow are quite good, certainly powerful enough to tackle any cleaning task.

Well....

I used to have a Silver moon, and while i prefer dual stage motors to single stage, I have to say the vortex motors are an improvement they pull about 2 more 5.5 vs 7.5 on the baird meter indicating better airflow.

Hmm

I think this would differ more in Europe where I am currently from as we have higher wattages not to say that it is anything to do with the end suction result? How well sealed we're the older models compared to the new? I have an EU S5 with a 2200w motor which sticks to the carpet but would like to know the difference perhaps the older 1600w or the new EU regulated range
