While trying to distract myself from a vile hangover I figured I'd do a short review of the latest style of Numatic Henry.

The 200 Original.

There are now 3 sizes of Henry available. The 160 compact, 200 Original and 240 Professional.

My main machine is a Kirby Sentria II and my secondary machine has been a DC75 Cinetic Big Ball Animal, however due to a few upcoming building works such as replacing the bathroom and some internal walls I figured I'd be best off replacing the Dyson with something that is suitable for picking up plaster dust, bits of tile and whatever other mess gets created.

I'm sure we're all familiar with Henrys core features so I'm only really going to go over the latest changes.

So first off we have the new 620w eco motor. Still producing the same suction power as the older 1200w version.

They have once again dropped the high/low power switch and replaced it with a little red light to show the machine has a power supply.

The upper motor unit and dirt bucket have a notch moulded into the back of them so that the machine can only be assembled the one way. This prevents people assembling him back to front with the switch and exhaust at the front rather than the rear. This change is welcomed by my OCD lol

They have changed the parking bracket, making it a much more substantial part of the bucket and it is now much easier to locate and park the nozzle in.

On the floor nozzle itself the parking bracket is now a moulded part of the nozzle, rather than a clip that could be pulled off.

There is now on board tool storage for two of the attachments between Henrys rear wheels... It's a shame they couldn't squeeze in space to store the small stair tool too... However the Henry 240 Professional has space for all 3 tools due to him being slightly larger.

Internally the machine is exactly the same in terms of bag compartment and filter setup.

They have also changed the suction release valve on the handle, incorporating a small piece of foam to silence the noise of the air escaping. This actually works really well and even with the crevice nozzle on and the suction valve open there is zero noise from the the air escaping from the open valve. I sometimes forget it is open it is so silent. I guess this is why they have highlighted it by colouring the valve red instead of the traditional black ones of yesterday.

Overall these are some really nice touches to the machine.

I really like the fact they have made it so that Henry can only be assembled in the correct way, the new parking bracket is much easier to use and the silenced suction release valve is superb.

I'm not hugely fussed on the tool storage though..... I guess for most people it is a welcome feature but to me it just makes Henrys bum look a little cluttered.

And I think I'd of preferred to keep the high/low suction option over the power supply indicator light.
Having said that though, Henry is all about keeping it efficient, simple and reliable so I guess the fact they have dropped the power level switch means there is even less to go wrong.

I'll stick a few pics up to correspond with the things I have mentioned.

Nice canister. Are those still manufactured in UK? I wonder if they have any sales locations here? I will soon be in need of a new vacuum that picks up water, I wonder if these do?

Electro.... yes these are made in the UK but this particular model is dry use only.

For wet pickup you want a Numatic Charles.... or even better get the George as it is a 3-in-1 extraction machine.
