So I recently sold off most of my collection because we got hardwood and only have one room with carpet but I now had to money to refurbish my all time favorite vacuum. A powr-flite p-747 it was sent to me but a fellow collector but I set it aside for safe keeping and also waiting for my refurbishing skills improved. It really wasn't in bad shape just need a few replacement parts well I decided to go all out on this girl. I got a new bag set up new brush roll new seals new head night new cord and a new bumper. She still has a metal sanitare metal motor it edged cleans the air flow is amazing and it lifts the nap of the carpet so hear are a few pics of her

Nice machine, smart bag choice! Powr-Flites is the all too often overlooked red-headed-step-child of the Tacony vac family.
My wide load Sanitaire is red and has been apart for years. You just reminded me i need to add it to my list of FINALLY-FINISH-IT vacuums. I want to modify the color scheme as it is really faded...thinking orange with a new red bag.
Thanks for posting. Lets breath some life into this site, seems too quiet around here.

I've always wanted a wide path machine like that. I don't really have the room in my house to push one around lol but still cool looking. Cloth HEPA bags will really turn that into a great machine too...one of these days I"m going to convert my Blue Sanitaire from F&G bags to the ST style ones. How does it come to be that a Tacony made machine has a VGII?
