I have a 1957 Kirby 517 in excelllent working condition that does not fit my collection time period. I collect pre WW2...the earlier the better.
I have all the attachments in the box except for the long wand.....like an idiot, I accidentally threw it away.
As you can see, the vacuum does not have the original bag.
Looking to sell or trade..I'll list on eBay unless someone is interested here.
Dave

Hey Dave, how much are you wanting for this? Is it all original, seems like there is a color mismatch.

The Unit Is Not Original

The belt lifter is the correct kind but it should be red as well as the headlight hood trim. As for the bag, it is an aftermarket F&G conversion that restricts airflow. The unit would have originally had a Sani-Emptor with a gray bag that has the Kirby Logo.

Not original

Yes, I stated that the bag is not original....I think the belt lifter and headlight hood trim is faded..but I'm not positive. They do not seem to be that much
nicer than the rest of the vacuum to have been replaced.
Anyway, I don't want it but do not want to throw it away.
For $ 20 it can be picked up......

Or, I'll donate to a beginner collector

kirbycollector's profile picture
I have a friend in Texas
He is a beginner collector and really wants old vintage Kirbys like that one.
He would really appreciate this being donated to him.
He lives in a really small rural town with no thrift store for many miles. He never finds anything.
Email me if you want to donate it to my friend
Thank you

On Hold

Sorry.....my wife wants to use it as our "daily driver" rather than get rid of it
since it out performs a new vacuum.
It's going to Larry when she's ready to let go.

Dave
