When the kiddos drop cookie crumbs on the floor and you don't feel like dragging out the full-sized vacuum........this works GREAT! I LOVE this little broom, it's identical to one my grandfather had when I was growing up. I loved going up there every weekend and pulling it out and playing with it! Running this little guy brings back so many good memories!!

I LOVE that design on the upper half! It just screams 70s...

According to a label on the bag-the design came from the 1700's makes me think of wallpaper.Would be really neat if there was a cordless version of the ElectricBroom.

"cordless version"

There were 2!The first was full size as above with pocket for battery pack.I have only seen it in one catalog from late 70s.It must have had a short and limited test marketing period.Later was a different, smaller and lighter model with a round outlet to plug charger cord into.Red and tan colors.I have had 2 that did not work.
(And there was a cordless Sears/Oreck style upright of 1965.)

I had no idea they created a cordless version of the Electrikbroom, let alone two! While I'm sure if you were able to find one today I highly doubt it would work, it still would be very neat to see. Jimmy, do you still have the non-working ones you mentioned?

We have an older one probably from the late 60's or early 70's but it's a two speed model the kids use it to clean up bird seed it's a yellow and cream color one.

I agree. Those little stick vacs can be just the ticket or small cleanups. I use my Hoover Quik Broom mainly to pick up cat litter.

The Colonial-inspired bag design on that Regina would "scream '70s" because in the middle of that decade this country was all about the bicentennial and Colonial motifs were very "in", even back into the '60s.

I'm not surprised the cordless versions of those sweepers don't work today. Battery packs--and they would have been nickel-cadmium back then--have a pretty limited shelf life. To get one running today, you'd have to come up with an equivalent modern battery pack, which may or may not be worth the trouble.

We use a Rowenta 18 volt stick vac that has 2 speeds, a powered brush, and runs about half an hour. Nice for cleaning up after my Parrot and his favorite spots. We also have a Orec xl we were given when he really gets messy but we don't want to break out the Royal 4650.

Cordless vacuum-mine would be the Simplicity Freedom cordless upright--this thing REAlly works-the only cordless vac I have tried that I like. Its strangely addictive to use!!!Just turn on and go-no searching for outlets to plug into!!No cord to get in the way!

You could always do what Gasko taught us...put an Electrolux C bag on the end of the HAH handle. Works like a charm!

For cordless i reach for my eureka quick-up. Sucks they stopped making it cuz I'd love a new one. Seems they only make the corded version now. They pop up on ebay now and then for way to much money. I used to have like 4 of them but the ni-cd batteries didn't last. They worked great and when I cleaned professionally they were a cheap and easy way for clean up in the summer months. If were takling corded I'll reach for my Hoover pixie for a quick clean up.

I have to say, we love our Hoover Linx cordless vacuum for quick pick ups. It does a great job on both carpets and bare floors and the battery lasts about 20 minutes.

I don't make a mess where a quick pick up is needed.
