I finally installed the armature this morning, ran it for a short time and sounds good. I will be dismantling it again to clean everything.

I would like to know what I should use to revive the top and bottom bearings to ensure nothing wears out. What lubricants and can I use the same for the top and bottom?

Of course I would like to know what to clean them with first.

Thanks.

Top bearing used 3in1 MOTOR OIL in the blue labeled bottle. Regular 3in1 is like Murder to the motor. Put high temperature grease in the brushroll bearings and lower bearing, providing it isn't sealed. The brushroll and lower bearings are ball bearings so NO OIL and the top is a sleeve bearing, so NO GREASE! Hope this helps!

Finally got back to this vacuum....

All clean. So the test went....WONDERFUL!

I removed the bag and was very surprised at the gobs of dust it beat out of the carpet. Also it really groomed the carpet nap.

I was using an Eureka F&G top fill. When I emptied it I saw what the other vacuum missed.

I did have to replace the upper cord hook...riveted in place.

I dug out a package of Mirolined bags.

After all this, I am going to sell it.

Convertibles, it still works like a champ. Glad you enjoyed it. I'm sure some new person will as well.

Good luck with the sale.
John
