Hello. Wondering if anyone has experience with the new Henry Hoover available in the U.K. I am thinking of buying one but I have read that due to new EU rules, they have discontinued the 1200w model and now only manufacture 580watt Henry's.

This is a reduction of more than 50% power, so I wonder if the Henry is still worth buying or is he shadow of his former self?

Many thanks

The new Henry's perform better than the old 1200w models, especially with the new floortool - see video link below.

Whilst the motor power has been reduced, Numatic have redesigned the motor to generate equally as much airflow. The performance of a vacuum should never be measured against motor wattage alone. The wattage is simply telling you how much electricity it's using. Airflow is the key indicator and there are numerous ways to generate high airflow with low power.

With cylinder vacuums, I've often found that the floortool can make all the difference also. You can have all the suction power you want, but with a crap floortool it simply won't lift the dirt off the carpet.

Turbo500 is absolutely correct. I have an older 1200w autosave Henry & a newer one with the smaller motor. The newer one is far superior.

Don't consider the motor size as it's irrelevant. The current Henry's are more powerful & effective in real world use.
