So I guess it's on sale now.
It's quite hard to believe that Miele did this after all. It's like Dyson would start to make bagged vacuums.
Well anyway it's here and after watching these videos it seems to be "real" Miele style with the quite basic, but sturdy design.
It's a single cyclone system with very good filtration system. Pre-motor filter is large pleated filter. Self cleaning system is nice, because it works automatically and filter has it's own "bin" where the fine dust falls after self cleaning process. Filter is also washable. Final HEPA filter is in sealed to the vacuum and non removable life-time filter. That's something what I am not too keen about.
So why not multi cyclonic? What I have learned is that multi-cyclonic vacuums suffer too much airflow loss.
Price is around 320 euros.

I hope posting these videos I don't violate anyone's rights.
Videos are from Sweden.

There was nothing inappropriate with your post. People post videos all the time. You will just see there is less activity today due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

This was just a misunderstanding in other post + I was super tired in my work.
Sorry about that. I will definitely stay.
And most importantly thanks to VL for all the valuable support for rather new vacuum enthusiast :)

As I had guessed Mike,

this can be a stressfull time of year.
Some companies are closing quarters or fiscal periods. Someone I know found duplicate fraudulent contracts for a site recently assigned him, and had to adjust this quarters revenue. It's perplexing. The company paid thousands in commission for those frauded sales. Someone else quit later, telling me they were covering, or else they'd have found them before the new guy.
It's a cruel world.
Peace, and have a prosperous, safe holiday season, and a better new year.

Fantastic videos. Thank you!

As anyone who's read my posts knows, I'm a Miele lover and a stinky vacuum 'hater'. Infrequently used bagged vacuums + pets = unpleasant odor. Which means Mieles I've had, even when equipped with charcoal filters, still tend to smell. And scented beads or charcoal added to the bag prevent the stench issue. So this bagless Miele looks interesting. Miele quality and the ability to dump the dirt immediately after cleaning. I've heard bagless can also smell, but this has not proven to be the case for my Dyson V8.

The dumping mechanism looks like it could use a bit of development. The Dyson V8 is easy to dump without getting hands near the dirt.

Love that push button cord winder. My old Miele had a button that could be released to stop mid-rewind. This was useful because the cord could be stopped before it slammed into the machine body. The one push button seems an ill conceived feature. But the button is better than a certain other canister I own that shall remain nameless. It has a much cruder re-winding mechanism.

I'm sure folks will complain about the small casters on the Miele, but I like 3 or 4 fully rotating casters because the machine can be pushed sideways. Not so with the nameless canister I currently use.

Another ding the new Miele will get is the tiny tool size. Yes, those tools look even smaller than the ones on the bagged Mieles I've owned. I've read no end of complaints about the Miele tool size on the forum. But at least the tools are easily transported on the vacuum and don't fall off the handle every single time the machine is used as they do on my current, non-Miele canister. Even my sister, who is borrowing this canister, complained that the tools fell off with such frequency, she took them off the handle and stored them in a bag. Miele does sell plenty of extra tools, but they are extremely expensive.

Seeing your video also made me remember how much I appreciated the comfortable carrying handle and convenient parking slots for the wands on the Mieles.

I haven't watched the entire video yet, but hope that the machine has the option for a powered head. 'Turbo' brushes are a non-starter for me. My first upholstery tool with a rotating brush was a turbo tool for the Miele. It cost the earth and was near worthless because it bogged down too easily.

Thanks again for the thorough and thoughtful videos.

Hi Mike!
I did the videos and of course you can use them!
I am not a company ;-) just interested in vacuums like you.
I can not prove that I did them here, but I will post comments in the commentary section on youtube and mention this site.

I am just happy to see my videos getting links. I think I said that in the description to the videos?! Maybe a missed it.

Obviously I am new to making videos, but I will learn. A company would of course hire someone to help them. I do them myself because it is a fun hobby.

Do not worry Mike. / Jakob Sweden Stockholm

PS: I would have written this sooner, but I just stubbled upon this tread. And now I am a member on this site!

Welcome to Vacuumland Jakob! And thank you for showing us your new Blizzard. Though I'm not a fan of bagless vacs, I am a fan of Miele and your video was fascinating and very informative!!!

Thanks for the welcome!

Just a few things.
I think Miele said at some trade show (IFA 2016) in Berlin that the choice of mono cyclone was due too:

More power efficient + less noise.

I do prefer bagged vaccums myself, but I am also a Miele fanboy.
Hence, I had no concerns buying the Blizzard. Miele have also said that they will continue to produce bagged vacuums in the future.

So for bagless fans Mieles turn around (doing a bagless) is probably a good thing as it will put som pressure on some companies producing bagless. Only time will tell of course.

I have done one more video with the Blizzad. One of these "clean my home with it".

It is a bit goofy and non-informative, but I empty the dust container at the end. Close up.

Hope no one feels offended by me posting my own video in the thread. It fitted well with this tread I thought.

It's nice.

Maybe it will come to the US with an electric carpet brush. It seems a bit noisier than other Mieles, but it's not terrible.

So nice to see you here Jakob!
Your videos are very well done and pleasure to watch.
About the new Miele Blizzard CX1 using only one cyclone. Yes that is actually fact that single cyclone allows more suction with less noise. I assume that the Electrolux uses only one cyclone for that reason.

NOTE! I am Mike81 from here. I just had to create new profile because I forgot my password and I couldn't restore it.

A small world

Dito!
I thought it was you. Nice!

Well, if Miele wants to sell any Blizzards in US they will have to include an electrohead.
I think. In Sweden those are far and few between.
I can e-mail Miele Germany about it and post a summary of the reply.

About the link to the video a posted. I am happy to have found this site and will NOT make it a habit.
I got interested in vacuums a year ago when I got dustmite allergy.
From there on I bought 8 vacuums so far. People around me just laugh or think I gone a little crazy.
Some thinks it is fun though.

Well nice to have found this site / Jakob

Miele Sweden

Wow, Miele Sweden offers me an additional extra for some of my videos of the Blizzard. Well, of course I am happy. But... I had a few thumbs up at first and now it is mainly thumbs down. I cannot understand it myself. If you have some critique please tell me here on this forum. I do not want to release videos that people hate.

Any how, I ask them about the electro brush for the Miele Blizzard release in USA. I will get back when I have the answer.

Wow, drsnuggle, you must clean frequently. That wasn't a lot of dirt for what looks like quite a bit of vacuuming. The one thing I enjoy about my bagless vacuums (Dyson V8 and early 60's Kirby) is seeing all the dirt the machines pick up. Yeah, it can be a little messy, and I know it's kind of nuts, but I love seeing the dirt and am convinced that a lot of bagless lovers see all that dirt and it makes them think the vacuum is doing a great job.

Your cats certainly have a lot of nice places to play and lounge around. I am well acquainted with pampered pets. I have two dogs to fill my vacuums and they can do pretty much whatever they please around the house.

I won't be giving up my bagged machines, but I enjoy using the bagless and do so regularly.

A clean home

drsnuggle's profile picture
I clean 2-3 times a week. Mainly quick cleans of the floors and carpets. And it is strange how much hair my cats shed for only two days. Dogs would probably shed even more.

One year ago I got pretty sick for like 4 month. First the doctor thought I had gotten asthma, but it was mostly in my bed I had a hard time breathing. Well, to make it short, me and dustmites do not like each other. So vacuuming became an obsession. I got back to health after two month of inhaling cortisone twice a day, vacuuming, using an air purifier and washing my bedding often.

It is satisfying to see all dirt being picked up in the dust bin. But I most often use one of my Miele C3 as I like their bags. The filtration is amazing, I believe. See if I can post a pic of them.

I feel as I have kidnaped this thread. Sorry :-(.

What a wonderful vacuums you have! Those Miele vacuums are very well made and they look beautiful.
However I would suggest you use your Electrolux UltraOne time to time to give a deep clean to your rugs. It has that big power nozzle (I have same nozzle) and after all my tests I have discovered that it gets the rugs deep down clean. Much better than the air driven turbo nozzles.

Sorry about posting my video, but you can see how it beats the rugs thoroughly.

I remember that video and will revisit it as I have my lunch break at the moment.
And I have seen other videos where you test it versus others. And put the dirt on white paper!

Take care / Jakob

Just had a email announcing UK launch. Given the EU regulations limiting power to 900 watts from September, why introduce this with a 1200 watt motor? It will soon need to be changed to comply!

"need to be changed to comply"?

Perhaps not. As the UK is exiting the EU, you don't have to comply.

The Miele

turbo brush is fine for most area rugs in the USA as well. Some are dense acrylic or wool, but the expensive Persian rugs or inexpensive nylon rugs by Milliken mills
it is gentler on than an electric beater brush.
