SJ, the part you need is the Bag Door Lockout Switch. And yes, you should replace it! That looks a little dangerous there in your photo. I would strongly suggest you buy 2 of them, so you have a spare on hand....this part is NLA thru Aerus Electrolux, & the only way you can get this part now is ordering it for the Perfect C101 Metal Canister Vacuum, which is identical to the metal Electrolux canisters such as the Super J.

Thanks Rob. That's the name I couldn't remember! I turned 53 a few minutes ago and already my mind is going ;)
Good to know parts like that are still available even if Aerus doesn't carry them anymore. I guess Perfect isn't just keeping the tradition of the classic Electrolux metal canisters alive, they're also actually helping keep some of the original machines themselves alive as well! |
